Event Details

Springfest is an annual anime convention held by us, Polytechnic Anime Society (PAS), in March. We have held Springfest at NYU-Poly for the past 10 years.  Started in 2002 as a small gathering, but thanks to our club members and all of our friends across the country, we have grown to become the largest free anime convention in the Tri-State area. Last year we were proud to host over 1000 people.

During the convention we have panels about anime, Japanese pop culture, gamer life style and the American otaku experience. Along with panels we also hold anime showings, contests and concerts. Last year we had a band from Japan play Pfizer Auditorium as well as Nullsleep who is an 8-bit chip artist. This year once again we are hosting a dealer's room/artist alley, where vendors can sell Anime related merchandise. If you require accommodations, there is a Marriot Hotel right across Jay street and the Main Entrance to 6 Metrotech, where most of the events are held.

This message is for TEACHERS or EDUCATORS planning to bring a group to the convention

Since this is a weekend event, please ask the principal in your institution or the NYC Department of Education to make this an official class trip. It is also important to notify the parents of this trip. This may be an extra step, but we want to provide you and your class the smoothest and a worry-free expedition as possible. Also please bring your NYC Department of Education or teacher credentials and a valid photo ID when coming to this event.

Filming/Photography that will occur at SpringFest2012

There will be different press and film crews at SpringFestNY 2012 covering the various events that are planned throughout the day. They are not planning a commercial distribution at this time. If you do not want your son or daughter filmed, please do not allow them to come to the convention. We have no way of prevent such actions.

There will also be photographers taking pictures of attendees that will be in cosplay (Costume Play) attire.
